Edibles: 1:1:What?!

If you’ve visited a dispensary in the last couple of years, you’ve likely discussed edibles containing cannabinoids other than THC. They are usually touted proudly by budtenders like ourselves, using terminology like “One to One to One” – does that leave you thinking “WTH does that mean?!” We’re here to break it down for you!

When someone says, “one to one” – which is generally formatted on the packaging as “1:1”, it means there are equal parts of each of the active cannabinoids being touted, such as CBD, CBN or THCV (just to name a few). Important note, when a product notes that it is 1:1, that does not mean 1mg of each - it just means they are equal in their amounts so either ask your budtender or review the labeling to confirm exact amounts. Fun fact - NO gummy sold in Massachusetts will ever exceed 5mg of THC (that is the limit per gummy) but may have higher/lower amounts of some of the other cannabinoids you'll learn about below.

Here are a couple of the most widely seen/utilized cannabinoids, along with some links to the products we have containing them.

THC - Let's start with the easiest one. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is found in every single one of the products we sell here in a legal, recreational dispensary in Massachusetts. THC is responsible for the psychoactive effects felt when consuming cannabis as THC produces feelings of being high.

CBD – The ever-popular CBD (cannabidiol) is widely utilized for its calming effects and pain relief WITHOUT the psychoactive effects associated with THC. On our menu currently we have:

CBN – CBD (Cannabinol) is what we sometimes refer to as “cannabis’ version of melatonin.” CBN is a cannabinoid in the cannabis plant that has been found to assist with sleep. On our menu we currently have:

THCV – THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin) has been dubbed by some as ‘diet weed’, this cannabinoid has been found to have energy inducing effects and even curb the munchies. CBS Boston recently did a segment about this cannabinoid as well as our Partner Coast Cannabis Co.'s offerings that you can watch here. We offer one (delicious!) gummy with THCV:

CBG – CBG (cannabigerol) is non-intoxicating and does not impart a high, despite its connection to THC. CBG has been found effective in treating chronic pain with its an anti-inflammatory properties. We have one product on our menu with CBG:

Still have questions? No problem! We're always here to discuss any of the above in more detail to find what edible will work best for you. Stop by and visit us - we're open daily from 10am - 8pm.
